Electric hoist is a widely used light‑duty lifting machine, usually installed on overhead cranes or gantry cranes for linear movement. According to the lifting medium, it can be divided into electric chain hoist and electric wire rope hoist. The former uses metal link chain, suitable for short‑to‑medium lift with moderate loads; the latter uses wire rope, suitable for heavy loads and long‑distance lifting.
The core components include motor, reduction gearbox, drum or chain sprocket, brake system and control unit. The motor provides stable power; the reducer adjusts speed and increases torque; the brake system realizes precise stopping and load holding; the control unit enables wireless or wired operation for flexible control.
In terms of performance, electric hoists feature high lifting speed, large load capacity and low labor intensity. They are equipped with multiple safety devices such as overload protection, limit switch and emergency stop button to prevent accidents.
Electric hoists are widely used in manufacturing for workpiece handling, in logistics for cargo loading/unloading, in construction for material lifting, and in stage rigging for equipment suspension. With the development of automation, electric hoists are increasingly integrated with intelligent control systems to improve operation accuracy and safety.
